ABOUT THIS PROP REPLICA: THE COSTUME (ROBE)
"What's your favorite scary movie?"
The grim-reaper style costume designed for the SCREAM franchise is undoubtedly one of the most iconic movie-horror pieces that has ever been created and perhaps one of the most widely recognized Halloween-theme costume of all time. Ever since it's first appearance back in the 1996 film, Scream, the costume has been something every die-hard, true horror fan has only dreamed of ever owning. Now, Public Enemy Studios is extremely proud to finally offer the only true screen accurate prop replica of this iconic "slasher"!
This 1:1 costume is a faithful reproduction of the iconic "slasher" robe worn by a number of key characters in the franchise. With the provenance of the master patterns made from an original screen-used costume from the 1997 film, Scream 2, special measurements were closely taken with exacting attention to detail.
The costume consists of original black sparkle hooded robe with foam reinforced hood, rope drawstrings at neck, batwing sleeves with wide hanging strips of fabric, integral gloves, hemline cut into 1-in. strips fraying to lower portions, and velcro chest closure.
An exhaustive and careful study was made to help replicate the accuracy and look of the costume, every detail was crucially important including the material [fabric] itself. After months of scouting and going through hundreds of fabric samples, we arrived at the conclusion that it was necessary to recreate the material as best as possible for real authenticity, something no one has ever attempted to do before.
With the assistance from a company based in Los Angeles, CA. that specializes in fabrics & textiles for film & TV productions, we were able to closely reproduce the "look" of the fabric using high quality photos taken of the material from the screen used costume that we were fortunate to have acquired to ensure accuracy, along with detailed notes of what was required for authenticity.
To create the definitive SCREAM "slasher" replica, we obtained an actual costume used on the set of Scream 2, meticulously measured and photographed every detail and then painstakingly recreated this as close as possible. This costume is screen accurate not only in the geometry, but down to the detailed weathering, as well. Also, the drawstring cord is the same style that was used in the actual "hero" props from Scream 1 & Scream 2. The result is the most accurate replica ever produced, a "must have" for any Scream fan and more importantly, it’s destined to be the most eye-catching prop replica in any SCREAM fan’s collection.
Our version remains faithful to the ones seen in the movie, with accurate pattern and the same dimensions as the “hero” versions, everything is one piece, no removable parts and weighs approx 3 ½ lbs – ideal for display or Cosplay!
